First batch of An-32s upgraded

The first batch of the An 32 aircraft had been sent to India from Ukraine after they accomplished the Indian Air Force’s order of upgrades at the facilities in Ukraine’s defence & industrial complex.

The first 5 of the upgraded planes, according to ukrspecexport, have left to north of India in Kanpur and it will reach India in 5 to 6 days. The transport aircrafts are right on schedule and India appreciates the quality of work by the Ukrainian companies. Their upgraded An-32 is also above the satisfaction of India. Ukraine also shipped along with the An-32 are the equipment that will be used in developing repair facilities for these aircraft in India.
10 more of these An-32s will be shipped later this year. The first batch of An-32’s acceptance document had already been signed dated May 18, 2011. Their contract is for 103 of these air craft that is worth around $400 million for the Indian Air Force. The contract had been signed in July of 2009 between Spectechnoexprt and IAF. The Antonov Plant & Civil Aviation Plant 410 are the ones that are working to meet the contract’s requirements. The contract stated that 40 of these aircrafts would be modernized in the country of Ukraine and the rest in the BRD-1 aviation plant in Kanpur for the Indian Air Force. The upgrades of these aircraft should have around 25 of different modern equipment that are made in Ukraine and from other countries that will be increasing the flight safety of the aircraft. Its fuel consumption as well as the weight for the empty upgraded vessel will also be lower compared to its basic model. It will also be able to make a landing according to the ICAO Category 2.
The 3 year contract that was signed December of 2009 worth $110 million by OJSC Motor Sich and IAF, the AI-20 engines are also to be upgraded.

    by what time does the contract delivers all the 103 aircrafts?
    Sure its a very good pump up boost to the indian air force.
