Default British media going crazy over Rafale Selection

The brits have gone crazy after rafale became the preferred bidder.
Comments on sites of thesun, dailymail and guardian are disgusting...you can see the anti-french sentiments and colonial mindset in them.

Brits are bad losers, especially when they lose to other European countries like France. And yes this has to do with their colonial past.

Er.. Did you read the Guardian article you quoted? The main body of the article does not mention the French beyond a mere passing reference. The article dealt with the authors thoughts on how the British polity's attitude towards colonialism may have damaged Typhoon's chances in the Indian MMRCA. The few (about 50) comments I read also dealt mainly with the authors assertions. The only mentions of France I found were a couple of posts where people thought typhoon was better, a mention of how little aid France gave to India, one mention of the Arcelor-Mittal deal and so on.

What I am trying to say is that I did not find any sustained slanging of the French in that article as you suggested exists (or have I missed something?). I am not denying that there are no articles/ user comments that have indulged in bashing India/France; in fact I am sure you could find plenty in right-wing papers like The Daily Mail and The Sun. It's just that you could have done better in your choices of articles to highlight.

I'm thinking maybe it's ok for those jobs to be at risk. If your product is not selected, the standard response is to go back to the drawing board and rework. If, instead of that, you're more interested in creating fantastical stories about how they were rejected though the french jet was 'whipped' in every way and some weird notions of why despite 'aid' the deal didn't come through, you're going against the first rule of business- you gotta give a profuct that the customer can find value in. If you get even that single, most fundamental of principles wrong, I guess it's only fair for your industry to be at risk....

Worse is yet to come, I feel it.

Cameron is pushing extremely hard. I dont think we have EVER had a PM thats so devoted to this. But then he has me and millions of others breathing down his neck. All I wanted was AtoG weapons installed, geez. Thats all the bloody thing needs. Why cant cameron do that?

I feel like if negotiation fails with the French EFT will be in, but such a chances of such a scenario are of low probability and not invited as things will be further delayed.
Correct me if I am wrong.

while i don't agree with the 'better' part and qualify it to 'better in some ways', point is that the IAF wasn't looking for 'the best' fighter but the fighter it best capable of performing the specific role it wanted it to perform. There may also have been economies of scale- IAF+ Navy= overall lower total cost of ownership

Thats why I was hoping for more AtoG weapons to be installed, Eurofighter cant perform the roles Rafale can and will be until 2018 more or less until it gets its AtoG weapons.

Why not simply accepting indian choice?
Do you think it is fair to send governement advocates in a private (EADS/indian dovernment) afair?
EFT has good porspects in Oman and SA. I have read a lot of posts on Telegraph etc sites. Juest made me sad about some (many) french bashing.
